I drew the drawing accompanying this article in 1997 and for some reason I kept it.
I was teaching someone who did not appreciate the importance of a hip turn.
The very simple drawing splits the body into three sections and I explained that if the middle section moved in the wrong direction (in this case to the right) then everything above and below it would also move in the wrong direction as the body is linked throughout.
My pupil understood this immediately and improved straightaway.
I did not have any videos online 26 years ago so I could not show my pupil Top Tip 1 & Teaching video 20.
It may be worth another look at them for all of my subscribers.
